November 20th- Peaceful, easy feeling!

 With Mrs. Bartz ( guidance teacher) practicing techniques to calm us when we are upset or anxious.

We are taking belly breaths- Maddie
When I get too crazy I can calm down- Cooper

It is good to calm down when you are mad- Nola
I can calm down by taking a belly breath- McKenna
Today in reading a boy and his mom took "reggae steps". We wondered what that meant so Ms. Johnson turned on some Bob Marley. We sure had fun letting loose to the music.
My mom has that music in her car- Braden

I liked dancing to the music- Connor

It is fun to dance with Olivia- McKenna

I like to dance- Collin
Reggae is island music- Jackson

We have the reggae beat!

Nov. 18th - Thanksgiving Vocab.

Pilgrims are a group of people who sailed from England to America on the Mayflower.
They sailed for 65 days!- Violet
Seven days until Thanksgiving!


Native Americans also known as American Indians, were the first people to live in America.
They helped the Pilgrims grow corn- Quinn
Their leader was Squanto- Cooper

Freedom is a persons right to make choices.
The pilgrims did not like to go to the church they were supposed to (in england)- McKenna
The pilgrims came here for their freedom- Cooper

A holiday is a special day where people or events are remembered.
Like Thanksgiving!- Cooper
The clover leaf day ( St. Patricks Day)- Jackson
Christmas!- Violet

Thanksgiving is a holiday that celebrates a special harvest in America a long time ago.
We eat a good meal with our families- Maddie

Change means things do not stay the same over time.

We change oil on a car- Jackson
We change the calender each month- Nola
We change our clothes- Cheyenne
We changed, we do not drink a bottle, babies do that- Zoey
We put up different decorations like no more pumpkins. Pretty soon it will be our Christmas tree.- Samantha

Nov. 17th- first flakes and winter wear!

We know Violet, all these snow clothes are no fun,
BUT,
 kids need warm coats, hats, mittens, boots and snow pants to play in the snow!

Nov. 14th- Over and out!


It is such hard work being a kindergartner these days!   Reading, writing, math, science, our specials and so much more. As our brains get bigger we sure like our afternoon rest. Over and out on a great week of learning.

November 13th, "Mix It Up" Lunch!


 Usually each class sits at their own lunch table but today was a special- "Mix it up lunch!" sponsored by S.A.V.E, our "Students Against Violence Everywhere",  Big Bend Elementary chapter.  The students enjoyed chatting and visiting with their buddies from Miss Marx's and Mrs. Haas's kindergarten. Members of the Big Bend Fire Department circulated tables keeping the conversation flowing with starters like,what makes a good friend?  and about safe hands.

November 12th 
Today we did lots of number work with numbers 11-20.We've also still been talking about families and we have been doing a lot of turkey themed projects.
 Burr it is cold outside! Remember hats, mittens, and warm jackets! Many children are struggling with zipping their own coats, please practice this at home!:)

Veteran's Day

November 11th
