Happy Travelers!

These girls are all smiles!
Kaitlyn is off to The Dells after school and Alaina left early for FLORIDA!
Kylie has been in Florida this week.  We hope she is having a great time!

We loved this story!

We played this fun guessing game.  The students came up with their own clues and then the class tried to guess what was in their egg.

The answer to this one- a T-Rex!

Mya's Top Dog week ended with a beautiful story read by one of my former students. Mya's sister Maggie!

She even brought the kids treats for being great listeners!
Have a happy weekend! One more full week before SPRING BREAK!

The Chicks are in the house!

Mya's mystery bag hangs in a tree, has a hole in it and birds love it. Thank you Mya for  making such a beautiful birdhouse for our feathered friends.

Peeps stick together!

And one REALLY GOOD EGG! Congrats to Dominic whose listening skills, manners, self control and kind heart  made him our class representative for the month .  Way to go !

All My Peeps!

The best way to make kids great readers! Give them books and let them read. Reading fluently at level C is the benchmark students should be at when leaving kindergarten.19/24 students are at level C or beyond already!!!!!
Keep on reading! Practice pays off!

The Peeps get very excited about Scholastic readers!

In math we worked with missing addends!

Shhhh- pretty painting going on for a special surprise for special someones!

Chickens Aren't The Only Ones!

We talked about oviparous animals.  That means animals that hatch from eggs! We sorted animals that do and don't as a class then by ourselves. Click here to watch a short fun video EGGS

Then we drew and wrote a sentence about an egg hatching animal.
Snakes and lizards hatch from eggs.

Lots of snakes are in Henry's egg!

Insects hatch from eggs!

We watched a video of thousands of sea turtles hatching. A turtle will return to the same beach it hatched at to lay its own eggs.

All birds hatch. Like colorful flamingoes!

A platypus is one of only 2 mammals that lay eggs.

The largest egg belongs to the ostrich- Jaxon T.
The tiniest bird egg is the hummingbirds- Addison
A stingray's egg is called a mermaid purse- Shaniya

Weekend Forecast- RAIN!

Another child has raced on to the last lap of sight words.
Hooray Shaniya we are proud of you!
We group read rain books. Please have your child read their's to you this weekend!

MINDS FOR MATH!

In math we have been doing lots of work with 10 frames and place value.  For example the number 16.
If 10 buttons are on the 10 frame how many are off the ten frame, to make 16?

Today's hiding bear game gave us practice with different combinations of making 10. A similar math game ( blue sheet) is coming home tonight. Please take some time to play it with your child over the weekend.
Stay Dry!
