What a Bright Bunch!

At the end of the day we had an all school assembly to learn about  Big Bend School's First Color run. It looks amazing and we are very excited for the June 8th event. Your child is bringing home information tonight.

Look at the concentration of these young authors penning their first published books.
We are working hard on our Bulldog books and can't wait to share them with you  June 2nd at our end of the year celebration(2:00 in the gym)!

There sure are many types of paper.We explored paper by using our senses to find paper  matches around the room. Then we  observed and  came up with facts about the different types of paper.

We found out smooth paper is the best for writing.- Henry K.

Thin paper is easiest to fold- Addison

Construction paper is good for writing and coloring- Molly

Wax paper is used for baking- Sam

Kleenex and tissue paper is  good for blowing your nose- Jocelyn

Paper towel is best for cleaning up spills- Jaxon T.

Corrugated cardboard has waves on it- Riley

Spring Break Memories

CJ enjoyed some outdoor time with his brothers in the beautiful weather!
TJ went to Texas and loved swimming in the warm weather.
Kaitlyn went up north and had fun fishing with her family.
Kylie enjoyed a beautiful day at the zoo.
Mya enjoyed bowling and riding her bike.
Kendyl went to a waterpark and loved the lazy river.
Henry T. watched TV.
Shaniya had a sleepover with friends and was up all night!

Sam enjoyed a fun new game with dad.
Addison went to grandma's for Easter.
Jaxson T. had fun at Country Springs waterpark.
Dominic liked being outside and going to the park.
Finn played lots of Minecraft.
Landyn rode his ATV.
Keighan stayed at a hotel with a waterpark and went down a big slide.

Eli's trip to the Wilderness with friends had him jumping for joy!
Molly loved the peacock at the zoo.
Jocelyn went to a Chicago cheerleading competition and took 3rd place! Congratulations!
Easton had a blast at Wrigley Field.
Riley really liked the snow leopard at the zoo.

Cam took in a Brewer game!
Henry K. loved the waterpark and being with his grandma.
Mrs. Teeters had fun taking the camper up by the Dells with her family.

 Alaina got 12 chicks!

Mrs. Sackmaster loved her vacation in Cabo, especially snorkeling in the Sea of Cortez!

We all missed each other and are happy to be back working hard to be first graders. 

Only 33 more days of kindergarten.

Homes for the Peeps!

With toothpicks, peeps and jellybeans everyone designed and built their own bird nest or birdhouse.  The only limitation was that it needed to fit their peep. The students engineered some great designs learning about stability, shapes and engaging in much problem solving along the way!

We tallied our classes favorite jellybean- PURPLE! We also wrote comparision sentences about our favorite color jellybeans.  Henry's jellybean is as orange as a tiger.

Eli's jellybean is as red as a rose!

Alaina's jellybean is as purple as a violet!

Keighan's is as Green as the Packers!

Jaxon's jellybean is as black as a bat!
