Our class is SPACE-y!!!!!!

Today we made outer space hats and learned a bunch about our solar system!
Here are some things we learned:
There are 9 planets- Collin
The sun is so hot no one could live there- Braden
Pluto is so cold you can't live there- Cooper (328 degrees below zero)
Some people say Pluto is not a planet- Nola
The planets go around the sun- they orbit!- Abbie
The moon orbits around the earth- Henry
Jupiter is the biggest planet- Violet
1,000 Earth's could fit inside Jupiter!- Ms. Johnson
There is more water than land on Earth- Elizabeth
The sun is a star- Braden
The sun is the biggest star- Zoey
and the brightest star- Gianna
Earth is the number 3 planet from the sun- Quinn
Mercury is very hot- Maddie ( 600 degrees)
Earth is the only planet with life- Connor
It is the only planet we can live on- McKenna
BUT- there might be aliens somewhere, but we don't know- Henry

Cats and dogs- oh my!

The Mystery Bag

It got scratched on a cactus- Abbie
BUT-
at the end the owners found him- Olivia


We got to smell cotton balls with citrus and mint - dogs could smell them in a ziploc in Mrs. Stein's purse- they have a super sense of smell!

Mrs. Stein brought a german shepherd dog named "Julia"- Braden
Dogs are amazing!
Join a special K9 training presentation, Feb. 24th at 6:30 at the Big Bend Village library- to learn more!

I got to hold the dog and he was so fluffy- Abbie


On Thursday morning we had Mrs. Sima as a substitute teacher.
Thank you to those who used their best self- control, even when Ms. Johnson wasn't here!
