Vowel sort

We sorted three letter words into baskets by what vowel the word had in it.

Me and Samantha are good sorters!- Collin

I liked working with Zoey- Cooper

 I like sorting words- Zoey

Then we wrote the words in each vowel group.
This is awesome and fun!- Henry

I like doing reading and writing with a partner, it is fun!- McKenna

Two sets of twins today!

Today we sorted long and short "e" sounds. Your child is bringing them home to show you!

The word elephant has a short e sound- Zoey

I was sweating here, I was hot- Braden
The word Easter has a long e sound- Addi

Makenna dropped one of her pictures and I gave it back- Collin
Reading is fun even when you are sorting "e" sounds- McKenna

A long sound is when a vowel is saying its own name- Olivia
I'm wearing a bracelet that Kayleigh gave me on the bus!- Maddie

Peter Rabbit

Today we listened to the classic tale of Peter Rabbit.

 Then the students wrote a story summary in their journals.  that sounds very tricky but of course they were amazing!

 Nola wrote:

Peter Rabbit lost his clothes. Oh no!

He ate Mr. McGregor's vegetables- a lot of yummy carrots. He should learn not to go into Mr. McGregor's garden.  He was late for dinner.

Collin wrote:
Peter Rabbits mom said, "Peter you can't go to Mr. McGregors garden"but Peter went anyway.

Today we read the last book in our fairy tale unit.  It was "
The Frog Prince".

This made us wonder a very important question:

I would NEVER kiss a frog- Jackson

I hate catching frogs!- Gianna

They make weird noises like a burp- Henry

If a frog was in my hand, I would faint!- Braden

I would only kiss a fake frog- Collin

Once a frog peed on me- I don't like them- Zoey

When I go up north and see a frog sometimes I just want to kiss it!- Addi
