12/12/14- A Festival of lights!


Today we visited Sweden.  On St. Lucia's Day the youngest girl in each household where's a crown of candles on her head to light the long dark winter nights.


In Sweden they speak Swedish words- Elizabeth
God Jul means Merry Christmas- Abbie
Sweden is in Europe- Cooper

Dec. 8th- off to South America!!!!!

Santa cam caught Maddie, Henry, Braden,Quinn, Collin,Violet, McKenna and Mason being real good today!   Who will get caught being good tomorrow???

St, Nick, Midnight Magic, games, secret Santa Cam and a surprise for Ms. Johnson!!!!!!!

Have you ever heard of Santa cam????? We have it!!!!!! Our secret Santa cam is excited to pick up good classroom behavior and report it to Santa! Starting next week we will start sending home random/ positive Santa cam reports. We all hope to get one by the time Christmas is here!

Dec. 3rd- Run, run as fast as you can........................

Did you know the first gingerbread houses were built in Germany? Today we read two versions of the Gingerbread tale and compared the stories using a Venn diagram.  Check out what was the same and different in the two stories!
We also made colorful patterned gingerbread hats and read little readers to Cheyenne's mom ( thank you!)

Hello December!

December 2nd
Welcome back from Thanksgiving break! We hope everyone enjoyed the time off filled with food, family and fun :) 
In room 207 we are beginning our Holidays Around the World booklet.  We will be "traveling" to different countries to learn about  world holidays ! Today we visited Germany and listened to the song "Oh Tannenbaum" (Oh Christmas Tree). Below is the link for the song:
