We also began our next science unit on Materials in Our World by observing wood.

Wood comes from trees- Addison

Pine wood comes from pine trees- Tayte

Cedar wood comes from cedar trees- Ryker

Basswood comes from Linden trees- Benson

The lines in wood are called the grain-Alyssa

The wood samples smelled like Home Depot- Paige

How it feels is called the texture- Caden

We celebrate the life of Martin Luther King Jr:

Our day began with the Yell and Tell assembly. Yell and Tell is very important to know. Your child is bringing home a book about it tonight, ask them to share and tell it to you.
We never should be too scared to tell when someone is being unsafe or in a dangerous situation.

In the afternoon we were treated to the 5th and 6th grade band and orchestra concert. Someday many of the students said they would like to play an instrument.
