Sort it out

Partner reading!
We love to show our family and friends what good readers we are!

We come from some very sweet, strong, nutty, lovely, healthy family trees!

In math we worked on sorting by attributes. We came up with many ways to sort buttons- by color, shape, size, number of button holes and more.

The time change had everyone a bit off today, esp. as the afternoon dragged on. Hopefully we will all adjust soon:)
Wear red, white and blue for election day tomorrow!

Investigation 1 -What happens when wood gets wet?

We used our skills of observation to predict and answer the question of  what happens when wood gets wet.

We found out that it depends what kind of wood you are talking about. It can absorb, bead up and spread. On some woods water dried quick on other woods it took longer.
It was cool using the eyedroppers- Landyn
Cedar wood smells like Home Depot- Addison
another great use of wood:)

FLY GUY FRIDAY

Our Top dog Jocelyn's big sis Madisyn read us one of Jocelyn's favorite books. We really enjoyed Fly Guy!

A  clever use of our wooden blocks- air guitars- rock on!

The students love to construct ramps with our wooden blocks.

November?

This is November???????????????
What a beautiful day for shorts, a fire drill and fun with friends outside.

These boys love to toss a football.

Pretty as a picture!

Double beautiful and check out the tree in the background.

Today we also  read and wrote words with the short "u" sound. We read Dr.  Seuss's , "A Great Day for Up!"  Speaking of things that are up, look at Mya on the monkey bars.

Swinging into November was a lot of fun!
