Happy Chinese New Year!
We were treated to a cultural celebration and even got to see the youngest kids in the US perform the Dragon Dance.
They are Big Bend Students!

We paraded with lanterns we made.
Our parade through the halls will bring good luck to our school!

Look what Mya and Molly brought in to share. A skin from a real red-tailed boa. Today was certainly a day of lions, dragons and snakes!

We had snow- much fun  cutting out our own snowflakes.
Snowflakes are symmetrical! 

We used unifix blocks to do some winter measuring and number writing.

2017 is the year we go on to first grade.
What a great start as 3 students moved on in sight word books.

Addison moved to the final lap #3!

She is the first girl on the final lap- hooray!

Alaina and TJ both moved on to lap 2- Way to Go!

Today in math we used various shapes to build hexagons.

We built "ow" words and learned about a special man called"Snowflake Bentley".
He worked most of his life on taking pictures and studying snowflakes.
No two are the same but all have a basic hexagon shape with 6 sides or points.

2016 break was fun-
Finn got to stay up until midnight and eat chocolate covered bananas and strawberries.
Jaxon T. saw the Country Springs Christmas lights and big train set.
Easton got to see many cousins.
Mrs. Masters got to eat at Bonefish, Red Lobster and Mitchell's Fish Market (she loves seafood!)
Jaxson went to Colorado!
Kaitlyn and Addison played in the snow.
Jocelyn had fun at finn's birthday party.
CJ tried out his skills on a new Snowboard.
Mya and Molly got their ears pierced and went bowling.
Riley rode his snowmobile.
Now it is 2017!!!!!!!!!
