The Gangs All Here!

We read a great story about a mouse that went to school. Her name was "Chrysanthemum". We practiced writing our names the kindergarten way. 

Here we are fueling our brains for more learning.

We dove right in to a great first day of our whole class together!

We began our first math class with comparing lengths of strips of paper. We used our paper to find a partner match and answer get to know you  questions like our favorite ice creams and animals. We talked about the concepts of longer, shorter, same and how to line objects up.

Our day ended with a visit to the library with Mrs. Bretza and we got to check out our first book! Please remember to bring that book back next Wed. to get a new one! Then we all met and practiced logging on the computer. Once we logged in we got to play on a really fun site called Starfall!

A beautiful day for making friends!

We painted beautiful rainbow fish because in this class we share just like he did in the story , "The Rainbow Fish".

Sometimes kindergarten gets a little messy!

Tomorrow we join together as one big class. 

You can help by reminding your child of our morning routine:

walk to class

Hang backpack on hook

Take out black Big Bend Home Folder and  cold lunches if you have one.

Come into class

Put lunchbox on the shelf

open folder - take out all papers and put in Mrs. Sackmaster's mailbox

Put folder in your mailbox

Get star lunch choice clip and see Mrs. Teeters for lunch choice

Have a seat at table

If only half can remember this routine tomorrow it will make for a much smoother morning!

Thanks for your help and remember tomorrow we are out of school at 2:35- no snack needed.

First Day of Kindergarten

 We were all smiles waiting for our first day to begin!

We had a lot of school rules to go over. We learned the rules to keep us safe and happy so everyone can learn. Please read with me about the school rules that we are bringing home tonight!

We read the book, "The Rainbow Fish", and painted our own. The rainbow fish found out he was a lot happier when he shared and was nice to his friends.

We had a great day of learning rules, making friends and we even got to go to gym and art. We also did some computer games. We will be very tired tonight. Rest up and see you back Wednesday.
