Safety First!

We started the day learning how to be safe  at our first tornado drill.

We were all ears as Miss Rose led our morning writing lesson for Superkids.

We continued our science studies on fabric by graphing what we felt was the best fabric for pants and a jacket.

Brody had a special visitor. Colten  wanted to be in kindergarten all day!
Someday Colten!

In a SuperSmart lesson we learned about festivals, music, schools, languages and foods from around the world.

Birthday Boy

Happy 6th birthday to Mac!

Snow much fun.

There's nothing like a big pile of snow- just ask a child!

We have met all our kindergarten Superkids in our reading program and look forward to reading more about their adventures together. To celebrate we went on a Superkid search. Each team got a letter, then had to search for the Superkid which started with the letter.
We ended with all our Superkid songs!

A Wet Day

Top Dog Mac treated Danny to a front row seat at his weekend hockey game.

In math we worked on building teen numbers on ten frames.

We all wrote our own books about , "When it Snows......".
Be sure to read your child's book tonight at home.
In science we experimented with water and its effects on different fabrics. We recorded our findings in our science journals.

Welcome Ms. Rose!

We started the day with a Superkid game that had us reading and doing addition and subtraction.
We really hit the gas with the Hot Rod game!

Welcome to our classroom Ms. Rose!

Ms. Rose jumped right in today with our reading and science center.

Today we learned how fabric is made by taking some apart.

We wrote about our findings in our science journals!
Look for your child's progress report coming home tonight.
Have a super weekend!

Materials in Our World- Fabric

We learn about Materials in  Our World through our science units.
We have explored paper, wood and now fabric!

All the fabric was blue, but none of them were the same. Fabric feels very different and can be used
 for different things.

Some fabric is see through or transparent.

Some fabric is soooo soft!

We have been playing lots of number games in class with our number grids.

We are working on the  concept of ten. Teen numbers are always ten and some more.
Sophia and Holly are showing number 13!

What  number are Kensington and Connor showing?
